Project Description
This semester, I had the opportunity to teach a World Music course and guide second-year Music Education students in learning the guzheng, through a collaboration between the Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University, and the Chinese Cultural Center in Thailand. We were very fortunate to learn under Dr. Xiang Wen Chen, who provided our students with direct experience in Chinese music.
After 12 weeks of study – just 12 hours in total ! the students were able to play the guzheng with confidence and perform several pieces. In the final session, Dr. Chen recorded their performances as a meaningful keepsake.
